Gabriel earned his BSc from Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria.  Called to South Africa in 1996, Gabriel came to Cape Town in 2000 for Youth With A Mission's 6-month missions training program.  In 2002, he founded Living Spring Faith Ministries (LSFM) a church-planting and community development ministry for the broken townships.  Gabriel has held leadership positions in LSFM, YWAM and Youth for Christ. An ordained minister, he is a certified community counselor with Philippi Trust and specializes in leadership development, apostolic ministry, deliverance, and family counseling.

 

Deborah (Kory) grew up in suburbs of Northern Virginia.  She got her BA in Latin from the College of William and Mary, but was called to missions at the 2000 InterVarsity Urbana Missions Conference.  With a passion for cross-cultural understanding, Deborah went on to receive an MA in Ancient History with focus on cross-cultural understanding within ancient military intelligence. Deborah's passion is teaching and linking the African community with the academic world.

 

After meeting in YWAM, Gabriel and Deborah married in 2004 and stayed in South Africa.  With their cross-cultural marriage and backgrounds of both charismatic ministry and secular academics, the Fabules cross cultural, denominational, and socio-economic boundaries as they share their passion for township transformation.  They live in Cape Town with their two sons.  Joseph is perceptive, talkative, academically voracious and attends an accelerated international school. Jonathan is on the Autism Spectrum with speech delays and is cuddly, athletic, and an eager learner. He attends a special needs school and speech therapy interventions!
